We’re Jessica & Anthony — the husband-and-wife team behind Southside Acres.
For years, Jessica photographed weddings through Abigail Troy Photography, capturing everything from large traditional weddings to intimate backyard ceremonies and simple elopements. After photographing hundreds of weddings over the last 11 years, one thing became clear: not every couple wants a huge wedding. Some couples want something smaller, more meaningful, less stressful, and more personal — without sacrificing beauty or experience. That’s where Southside Acres began.
Jessica's own wedding experience also helped shape the heart behind this venue. Growing up without a mother to guide her through the wedding process, she chose to elope instead. That experience showed her how important support, guidance, and reassurance can be during one of the most meaningful seasons of life.
We built Southside Acres to be more than just a venue. We wanted it to feel welcoming, beautiful, stress-free, and supportive — a place where couples feel genuinely cared for throughout the process. Every detail was designed with real wedding experience in mind, from the layout and lighting to guest flow, indoor and outdoor flexibility, and photo-friendly spaces throughout the property. As parents of five children, we also know how important family-friendly spaces and meaningful moments truly are.

Fun fact — the 1822 address isn’t just an address, it’s how old we were when we got married. And if you know Abigail Troy Photography, that name was inspired by our two older children as well. We tend to get a little sentimental around here — because to us, the meaningful details matter most.
The Main Venue
Clean, modern, and intentionally designed for intimate weddings and events, our Marshfield, Missouri wedding and event venue offers a bright indoor space with climate control, flexible layouts, and beautiful details throughout. The venue also includes a full prep kitchen, two spacious restrooms, and private upstairs suites for getting ready, relaxing, or storing personal items during your event.
Every space was designed to feel warm, welcoming, and visually beautiful while remaining comfortable for both guests and vendors.
Indoor & Outdoor Options
Southside Acres offers both indoor and outdoor event spaces throughout the property, giving couples and families flexibility for ceremonies, wedding receptions, cocktail hours, and gatherings.
From fully concreted outdoor areas designed to avoid mud and uneven ground to thoughtfully planned landscaping, private surroundings, and photo-friendly spaces throughout the property, every area was created with both beauty and guest comfort in mind. The property was also designed to be family-friendly and handicap-accessible for guests of all ages.
The outdoor spaces flow naturally alongside the indoor venue, allowing celebrations to feel relaxed, connected, and flexible while still offering comfortable backup options for weather changes.
